The C1 Bel Canto – A Modern Horological Masterpiece
For those unfamiliar with the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto, it’s one of the most groundbreaking and talked-about timepieces in recent memory. The highlight of the Bel Canto is undoubtedly its mechanical chiming complication—a feature rarely seen outside the realm of haute horlogerie and typically reserved for watches many times its price point.
Powered by CW’s in-house modified FS01 movement, the Bel Canto audibly chimes on the hour, showcasing both acoustic and visual artistry. The hammers, gongs, and bridges are all visible from the dial side, making it an open-worked kinetic sculpture as much as it is a watch. It’s a technical and aesthetic achievement that elevates the Bel Canto to the status of a modern classic.
Racing Tan Teju Lizard – A Perfect Compliment
To accentuate this exceptional watch, Cliff selected our Racing Tan Teju Lizard strap, a fan-favorite for its richly textured scales and warm caramel tone. The Racing Tan hue creates a beautiful visual contrast with the silvery tones of the Bel Canto’s dial and bridges, while its very slight sheen lends just the right amount of sophistication.
This strap is stitched with our True Blue French-milled linen thread, which elegantly echoes the Bel Canto’s blued steel hands and chime hammer—subtle but intentional design harmony that’s hard to beat.

This custom strap includes our signature Thick Curved Lug System (TCLS), a Dangerous9straps exclusive. TCLS creates an integrated fit between the lugs of the watch case, dramatically improving the visual transition between strap and watch while also adding comfort and wrist presence. Inside, we’ve lined this strap with our standard light tan kidskin leather, which is both soft and breathable for everyday luxury.
