Vintage Vibes Reimagined: Andrea’s Omega Constellation f300Hz with Martinique Bleu Alligator Elegance
Omega Constellation f300Hz with Martinique Bleu Alligator – There’s something magical about breathing new life into a vintage timepiece—especially one with sentimental value and horological heritage. My wife Andrea has long been a fan of her striking 1975 Omega Constellation Electronic f 300Hz Chronometer, Ref. 198.002. It’s a marvel of its time: humming with the tuning fork precision of the Omega-modified ESA 9162 movement, this watch represents that fascinating period when mechanical met electronic in pursuit of better accuracy.

This past month, Andrea’s Constellation received a significant upgrade—a new strap made from the last of our rare and luxurious Martinique Bleu Alligator hide, part of our exclusive Premium France Croco Alligator Collection. Let’s just say: when Andrea asks for something this special, she gets it.
Rare Leather, Rare Watch: A Perfect Match
The Omega Constellation f300Hz is already a bold statement on the wrist, with its steel case, sharply angled lugs, and hobnail textured silver dial. Pairing it with something ordinary just wouldn’t do. Andrea had been eyeing the cyrstal Sky Blue tones of our Martinique Bleu Alligator for some time, and I had just enough left to craft one final strap.
This alligator hide was particularly prized for its dense, glossy finish and rich tonal depth—there’s a subtle interplay of Crystal clear blue-grey with just a touch of golden Antiquing between the scales that gives it elegance with edge. For this strap, I added padding at the lugs to give it presence and structure where it meets the case, helping the integrated design of the Constellation flow effortlessly into the strap.
Details That Count: Silver Stitching and a Teju Lizard Twist
With our ‘SuperExotica‘ upgrade to complement the silver dial and enhance the cool-toned elegance of the Martinique Bleu, I selected a metallic silver thread for the superfine hand stitching. It’s a subtle detail but one that adds just the right amount of shimmer—catching the light in a way that feels refined without being flashy.

The lining, though, might be my favorite part. For this strap, I used a custom blended Creamy silver-white pearlescent Teju Lizard lining. This exotic lining not only looks stunning—with a soft iridescent sheen that shifts in the light to provide a great match to the dial—but it’s also incredibly durable. Teju Lizard is well-known for holding up over time, even under regular wear, making it both a luxurious and practical choice.
A Deployant Fit for a Queen
As always, the strap was made to fit our ‘D9’ logo inner-fold button deployant clasp—ensuring both security and style. The combination of fine leather, tailored padding, exotic lining, and precision engineering means that Andrea’s Constellation now wears with the comfort and elegance of a bespoke piece of jewelry.
It’s amazing what a difference a custom strap can make. Not only does it give a vintage watch new life, but it also allows the wearer’s personality to shine through. Andrea’s new strap is bold, elegant, and uniquely hers—much like the woman herself.
Final Thoughts: What the Wife Wants…
Sometimes in the workshop, amidst orders and custom builds for clients around the world, it’s easy to forget to create something just for the ones closest to us. I’m glad I set aside that final piece of Martinique Bleu for Andrea. The result is a piece we’re both proud of: a timeless Omega that now looks fresher and more refined than ever.

And most importantly, Andrea is thrilled. That smile on her face when she saw the finished strap on her watch? Worth every stitch.
