This week, local customer Patrick entrusted Dangerous9straps with creating a fully bespoke strap worthy of his beloved IWC Mark XVI. The result is a dramatic and beautifully integrated custom strap crafted from our Old English Grey African Goat leather — part of our exclusive Safari Collection.

For Patrick’s strap, we selected our Old English Grey African Goat leather, a material that immediately stood out as the ideal companion for the Mark XVI. The leather’s remarkable texture and striking striations of grey and black add a level of visual drama that enhances the watch without overpowering its classic military-inspired design. The result is rugged sophistication with unmistakable personality.
Designed to Integrate Perfectly with the IWC Mark XVI
One of the defining features of this bespoke build is the inclusion of our proprietary TCLS upgrade — the Thick Curved Lug System. Developed by Dangerous9straps, TCLS allows the strap to integrate seamlessly between the watch lugs, creating a more substantial and cohesive appearance while dramatically improving wrist presence.
Combined with carefully executed padding at the lugs, the strap flows naturally into the case of the Mark XVI, giving the entire watch a more unified and purposeful aesthetic. This level of refinement is something that simply cannot be achieved with off-the-shelf straps.
Hand Saddle Stitching That Complements the Dial

The underside of the strap has been lined with our motorcycle-grade black Kangaroo gloving leather. This lining material is one of our favorites for high-end bespoke straps because it combines extraordinary softness with exceptional tensile strength and durability.
On the wrist, the strap feels supple and comfortable from the very first wear while remaining highly resistant to stretching and long-term wear — ideal characteristics for a luxury watch strap designed for daily use.
