‘Paul Newman’ Style Alligator Bund Strap for Rolex Daytona 6263: Hi strap lovers, My very good customer and noted actor Barry Ratcliffe<\/a> recently was fortunate enough (lucky devil) to acquire a rare and highly collectible Rolex Daytona ‘Paul Newman’ Ref. 6263<\/a>.\u00a0 Naturally, he decided that he wanted to wear his watch on a ‘Paul Newman’ Alligator Bund strap and was kind enough to contact me:<\/p>\n

Luckily I have just the thing: Ebony Alligator from our premium France Croco<\/strong><\/em><\/span> Alligator collection.\u00a0 I have dubbed ‘Million\u00a0Dollar\u00a0Black<\/span><\/i><\/b>‘\u00a0Alligator\u00a0because every strap I’ve made from this looks like a\u00a0million\u00a0dollars.\u00a0It has got just the perfect amount of shine for a dressy strap both without that over glossy patent leather look.<\/span>\u00a0 The ‘Newman’ bund strap was unique in that it featured a wide, straight-sided ‘Cuff’ style bund underlayment with ver wide retaining straps, which is a design that really took off in the 1970s (very likely due to the very cool Paul Newman having adopted the style).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our ‘Paul Newman’ style bund strap features padding at the lugs, tapering from 19mm to 18mm, and Superfine hand saddle stitching and is lined in our super strong and super soft motorcycle black Kangaroo gloving leather<\/a>.\u00a0 I happen to think it turned out pretty great as does Barry, as he was kind enough to send along these lovely photos.\u00a0 Barry Ratcliff’s Rolex Daytona ‘Paul Newman’ 6263 is, without a doubt, our ‘Watch of the Week’!<\/p>\n
