Rally holes – the design options are nearly endless!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Custom Watch Straps with Rally Holes:<\/h2>\n

Custom Watch Straps with Rally Holes – Rally straps are consistently one of our most requested strap upgrades for sporty straps.\u00a0 However, many of our customers don’t appreciate the number of options available for variations on this theme that can make your strap both more unique and better match your design objectives.\u00a0 Rally holes or ‘Racing’ holes were originally developed for watch straps to vent the wrist and to prevent sweat build-up on the strap under the wrist that can occur under rigorous conditions such as auto racing where the cockpit in race cars, which are un-airconditioned and often not vented well.\u00a0 This combined with protective clothing, can make for environments that can only be described as ‘Swampy’.\u00a0 Of course, with time, rally holes in watch straps have become a design feature that offers a very sporty look and sometimes moves away from their initial practical benefit – sometimes even adding leather backing which offers another great design option without any benefit of venting the wrist.<\/p>\n

3 Basic Rally Hole designs:<\/h3>\n

I offer 3 basic styles of Rally holes: 3 large descending,\u00a0 medium and small multi-holes, and small multi-holes.\u00a0 However, each of these can be further customized with leather backing. Of course, these can further be customized with leather backing in a contrasting color and\/or contrasting edge paint, which really super-charges the already eye-catching nature of these straps:<\/p>\n

3 Large Descending Holes:<\/h3>\n

This is probably the design that comes to mind when talking rally holes – 3 or even 4 large holes that descend in size from large at the top of the strap by the lugs to smaller, as they proceed down the strap towards the buckle\/clasp interface:<\/p>\n

However, this basic design can be further customized by leather backing and contrast color edge paint which can really pump up the volume in terms of eye-catching customization.\u00a0 Of course, these options are best combined with watches that are very sporty in nature and with multiple colors in their designs:<\/p>\n

Medium and Small Multi holes:<\/h3>\n

This is another design that is if anything, even more attention-demanding and can be a great addition to your sporty watch.\u00a0 This design can likewise be further customized with leather backing and\/or contrasting color edge paint:<\/p>\n

Often of the Medium and Small rally holes with leather backing, I will add this directly under the top leather layer, because otherwise the contrasting backing leather cannot be seen if added behind the padding layer:<\/p>\n
