Hi strap lovers. We’re happy to announce the ‘Safari Collection’<\/em><\/span><\/strong> our newest line of watch straps which introduces 3 entirely\u00a0new leathers\u00a0 to Dangerous9<\/span>straps<\/strong><\/span>‘ growing collection of fine watch strap offerings. The ‘Safari <\/span>Collection’<\/span><\/em><\/strong> is intended to combine a casual old world Luxury, with the rugged nature of being on safari – consider it extreme casual<\/strong><\/em>. These initial 3 are just the beginning of our ‘Safari Collection’<\/span><\/em><\/strong> and consist of the leather described below.\u00a0 But first a bit of background on our newest supply partner:<\/p>\n

While exploring Lineapelle\u00a0(the huge leather trade show held twice yearly in Bologna, Italy) this past March,\u00a0Andrea and I found a\u00a0 handful of treasures amongst the many, many booths of traders selling mostly pretty ordinary leather of various colors and finishes. \u00a0One such gem was the\u00a0boutique tannery Tusting and Burnett<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 Tusting and Burnett<\/span> ,<\/span> nestled in the lovely North Befordshire countryside, is a 4th generation family owned and managed tannery.\u00a0 Specializing in bespoke\u00a0Sheep, Goat and Buffalo leathers from\u00a0Africa,\u00a0they’re an absolute\u00a0treasure.\u00a0\u00a0Their leathers, thick and\u00a0soft with\u00a0incredible colors,\u00a0enormous texture and abundance of character, are works of art\u00a0from the old school tradition of leather tanning.\u00a0\u00a0These leather really do bring\u00a0to mind being on African safari.<\/p>\n

One of the things I love about the English is their love of tradition.\u00a0 That one\u00a0can still find these incredible small manufacturers making\u00a0products that are second to none in terms\u00a0both quality and old world charm, is to be celebrated.\u00a0\u00a0Admiring\u00a0the small selection of astonishing leathers curated\u00a0from T&B’s extensive offerings\u00a0and speaking with Charlotta Tusting, T&B’s expert and attentive\u00a0Sales and Marketing head, it was clear that the\u00a0future of Tusting and Burnett is in very\u00a0good hands\u00a0and it’s outlook\u00a0is very\u00a0bright indeed.\u00a0 Dangerous9<\/span>straps<\/strong><\/span> is proud to add Tusting and Burnett<\/strong> to\u00a0our short list of\u00a0supply partners and we look forward to adding more of their wonderful leather to our lineup in the very near future.<\/p>\n

Here is a more detailed look at the leathers for our new ‘Safari Collection’<\/span><\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Hannibal – Stone<\/strong>: Is\u00a0an African Buffalo leather\u00a0with incredible depth of texture that is reminiscent of Elephant leather, thick and buttery soft (something we’ve found with all leathers from Tusting and Burnett) it will make beautiful straps.\u00a0 The dye color I’ve chosen is ‘Stone’ and has wonderful color variations from very light desert\u00a0Tans to deep coffee\u00a0browns and shows tons of character.<\/p>\n

Marsh – Dirty Denim<\/strong>: Is Afican sheep.\u00a0 Wonderfully textured with a soft almost Nubuck hand.\u00a0 The\u00a0color form the tannery is called Dirty Denim, but to my eye looks more like an Acid Wash denim and I think will look incredible with our butterscotch linen thread.\u00a0 The wonderful color and texture variations throughout these skins mean that no two straps with exactly alike<\/p>\n

Jurassic – Chocolate<\/strong>: Is again an African Sheep and show enormous texture and a more traditional leather\u00a0surface.\u00a0 Soft and luxurious this\u00a0leather will be a great choice for\u00a0our customers that want\u00a0a strap with an incredibly soft\u00a0and supple feel,\u00a0but a more traditional vintage leather look – perfect for vintage watches and sport chronographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
