With its rich blue sunburst dial, razor-sharp 44GS case architecture, and impeccable finishing, the SBGV239 called for a leather that could complement its refined character while adding a touch of understated luxury. Our choice was Navy Shell Cordovan, and the results exceeded both of our expectations.

Designed Specifically for the 44GS Case
One of the defining features of this bespoke strap is the addition of padding at the lugs together with our exclusive Thick Curved Lug System (TCLS) upgrade.
The angular 44GS case features unusually thick, sculptural lugs that can leave standard straight-end straps looking undersized, with a noticeable gap between the top of the strap and the upper surfaces of the lugs. By carefully building volume into the strap at precisely the right point and combining it with our TCLS construction, the strap fills this space beautifully, creating a far more integrated appearance.
The effect is subtle, yet transformative. Rather than appearing like an accessory attached to the watch, the strap becomes a seamless continuation of the case itself—one of the hallmarks of a truly bespoke design.
Attention to Every Detail
No detail was overlooked.
The strap has been hand saddle-stitched using superfine metallic silver thread, providing the perfect visual connection to the SBGV239’s polished silver hands and applied hour markers. These small design choices tie the entire watch together into a unified whole.
Turning the strap over reveals another thoughtful touch: our soft yet exceptionally durable Light Bavarian Blue Alcantara® luxury suede lining. Besides offering outstanding comfort on the wrist, its lively blue tone echoes the brilliant highlights that dance across the watch’s sunburst dial as it catches the light.

Both Dragos and I couldn’t be happier with the finished result. The Navy Shell Cordovan complements the SBGV239 perfectly, while the TCLS construction allows the strap to integrate beautifully with Grand Seiko’s iconic 44GS case.
