Bespoke Perfection for the Zenith Chronomaster Sport – Every now and then, a bespoke project comes together so perfectly that it feels as though the watch and strap were designed as one from the very beginning. That’s exactly how we felt after completing this custom strap for local customer Tom’s Zenith Chronomaster Sport.
The Chronomaster Sport is one of the finest modern chronographs on the market, combining Zenith’s rich heritage with contemporary styling and the legendary El Primero movement. You can learn more about the watch on the Zenith website here:

With its crisp case lines and instantly recognisable tri-colour chronograph sub-dials, it deserved a strap that complemented every aspect of its design—and that’s precisely what this bespoke Dangerous9straps creation delivers.
Semi-Matte Racing Black Ostrich Leg
Tom selected our Semi-Matte Racing Black Ostrich Leg leather, a material that perfectly balances elegance with a sporting character. The distinctive scale pattern of ostrich leg leather adds texture and depth without overwhelming the clean, modern design of the Chronomaster Sport.
Its semi-matte finish keeps the overall appearance understated while allowing the natural beauty of the leather to take centre stage. The result is a bespoke watch strap that feels every bit as luxurious as the Swiss timepiece it accompanies.
Designed for a Perfectly Integrated Fit
One of the defining features of this build is our signature Thick Curved Lug System (TCLS) upgrade.
Combined with additional padding at the lugs, TCLS creates a seamless transition between the strap and the watch case. Rather than leaving the gaps commonly seen with standard aftermarket straps, the leather flows naturally into the lugs, giving the watch an integrated, factory-designed appearance.
The Zenith Chronomaster Sport’s sharply angular lug profile particularly benefits from this construction. The geometry of the strap mirrors the architecture of the case beautifully, producing a cohesive look that simply cannot be achieved with an off-the-shelf strap.
It’s one of those details that may seem subtle at first glance, but once you’ve experienced a truly bespoke fit, it’s difficult to go back.
Every Stitch Has a Purpose
While the leather provides the foundation, it is the stitching that truly brings this design to life.
Tom chose a double row of superfine hand saddle stitching using Steel Grey and True Blue French-milled linen thread. This carefully considered combination perfectly echoes the grey and blue chronograph registers that have become a signature design element of the Zenith Chronomaster Sport.
Rather than simply holding the strap together, the stitching becomes an integral part of the overall design, subtly tying the strap to the watch while adding another level of handcrafted refinement.
It’s this level of thoughtful detail that defines every Dangerous9straps bespoke creation.
Luxury Where It Matters Most
Turning the strap over reveals another bespoke touch.
The underside has been lined with our exceptionally soft and highly durable Deep Blue Alcantara® luxury sueded fabric. Beyond providing outstanding comfort on the wrist, the rich blue lining reinforces the blue accents found on the Chronomaster Sport’s dial, ensuring that every element of the strap has been carefully considered.
The strap was also engineered specifically to accommodate Tom’s original Zenith OEM deployant clasp, preserving the premium wearing experience while delivering a completely bespoke aesthetic.
Our Watch of the Week
This project perfectly demonstrates what makes a bespoke Dangerous9straps creation so special.
